DECEMBER 1907
Left London December 6th reaching Mombasa on Christmas Eve, left again Christmas Day - 12 o'clock - and arrived at Nairobi about 11.30 a.m. on 26th. Stayed there till Saturday at Norfolk Hotel and left at 12 o'clock, reaching Port Florence on the Lake at 8.30 a.m. on Sunday; went on to the steamer "Clement Hill" and sailed at 1 o'clock; tied up near island during the night from 6 p.m. till 3 a.m. Delayed an hour as we lost a boy overboard after lunch - think crocodile got him; arrived at Entebbe at 4 p.m. on Monday. Busy all Tuesday settling porters, customs, rifles and trying to get donkeys. Lunch at Government House, also tea - took pygmies along; had a dance there also at night. Finished all up except getting donkeys, so decided to start next afternoon, January 1st, 1908.
